HISTORY

In 1982, the National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH) conferred national monument status on Hacienda de San Fernando. It is one of the few 18th century haciendas in the Tlalpan area that have not been altered over the years. This is the house where the then president Santa Anna spent lengthy periods, contemplating the gardens and enjoying the Hacienda. Santa Anna was not the only noteworthy guest; this Hacienda built in the classic Mexican style, was also visited by the Duchess of Albuquerque who spent some time there during the vice regency of the Second Count of Revillagigedo.
